Nevada Youth Sports is proud to celebrate a historic milestone as Kansas City Chiefs rookie safety Jaden Hicks becomes the first NYS alum to reach football’s biggest stage, the Super Bowl.
Hicks, who once played for the Jr. Crusaders in our league, went on to star at Bishop Gorman before continuing his football journey at Washington State. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, becoming one of four NYS drafted that year — alongside Rome Odunze, Troy Fautanu, and Jonah Laulu. In his rookie season, Hicks has emerged as a key contributor for the defending champions, recording three interceptions and earning praise for his playmaking and poise on the field.
From his early days in NYS to football’s biggest stage, Hicks’ journey reflects the dedication, discipline, and passion it takes to reach the highest level. His success also highlights the growing impact of NYS, with more players advancing to the college and professional ranks each and every year. Seeing one of our own reach the Super Bowl is a proud milestone for the organization and everyone who has been part of the journey.
Coby Carner, Director of Marketing for NYS, recently spoke with News 3 Las Vegas about Hicks’ achievement and what it represents for the league and the local community. Watch the full interview here: Jaden Hicks is Super Bowl Bound! News 3 LV Interview – 2/7/2025
As Super Bowl Sunday approaches, the entire NYS community will be rallying behind Hicks as he takes the field on the sport’s biggest stage. His story is a reminder that every great journey starts somewhere, and for Hicks, it started right here at NYS.
