We are super excited to announce our brand new Esports Pilot Program in collaboration with Valhallan! 🎮 NYS is leveling up with competitive esports, combining team play, coaching, and structured competition in an exciting new way for our athletes! Our first season begins March 7th, limited to the first one hundred athletes that register! We will be playing Fortnite Duos (Build), with 10 teams and 5 duos per team. Teams will compete in a hybrid format with four teams in-person each week and six teams playing from home. Points will be accumulated from Weeks 1-5, with a two-week playoffs for the top 20 duos competing in person at Valhallan. The top three individual duos and the championship winning team will all receive trophies at the end of the season! Join us in congratulating our NYS alum Rhamondre Stevenson on reaching the Super Bowl! 🏈🏆 Rhamondre played a major role in helping lead the New England Patriots to a hard fought 10–7 victory over the Denver Broncos in snowy conditions, finishing the game with 25 carries for 71 rushing yards. With this accomplishment, Stevenson becomes the second NYS alumni to reach the Super Bowl, marking back to back years with an NYS alum on football’s biggest stage after Chiefs safety Jaden Hicks made it as a rookie last season.
