UNLV has named former CSN coach Nick Garritano as its new head baseball coach, ushering in a new era for the Hustlin’ Rebels program.

Garritano takes over after a highly successful 16-year tenure at the College of Southern Nevada, where he built one of the nation’s top junior college programs. During his time leading the Coyotes, he recorded more than 600 wins, captured multiple conference championships, and made several NJCAA World Series appearances. Under his leadership, CSN also produced 22 MLB Draft picks and saw more than 190 players move on to four-year programs.

A longtime figure in the Las Vegas baseball community and a UNLV Hall of Famer, Garritano brings deep local ties and a proven track record of success to the Rebels. He also spent 12 seasons at Green Valley High School, where he compiled an impressive 316-118 record and led the program to state championships in 2001 and 2003.

Garritano also has connections to the NYS baseball community, having spent several years coaching within the program. His son Nicky Garritano followed a similar path, playing with NYS before continuing his career at CSN and UNLV where he graduated this year.

This hiring marks a significant step forward for UNLV Baseball as the program looks to build on its foundation under new leadership. Nevada Youth Sports congratulates Nick Garritano on this well-deserved opportunity and wishes him continued success with the Rebels.
