NYS Alum Tate Southisene is Rising Through the Ranks

After being drafted 22nd overall in last year’s MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves, NYS alum Tate Southisene has gotten off to an outstanding start this season with the Single-A Augusta GreenJackets.

The 19-year-old infielder is slashing .297/.429/.500 with 8 home runs, 36 stolen bases, 46 runs scored, and 30 runs batted in 51 games played for Augusta.

His strong performance to begin the 2026 season has earned him a promotion to the Rome Emperors, the Braves’ High-A affiliate. Southisene now looks to continue his success as he climbs the ranks of the Braves’ minor league system, with his sights set on reaching the major leagues in the coming years.

Southisene is another example of the high-level talent to come through Nevada Youth Sports, and we look forward to following his journey at the next level.
